Ornithology Surveys
Redwing specialises in bird survey and monitoring techniques to gather data on bird distributions, populations size and movements. These data are used to inform sensitive planning of development projects and mitigation as well as for research and conservation purposes. We use a range of methods including vantage point watches, breeding bird surveys, colony and point counts and targeted surveys for schedule 1 species.
We design survey schedules tailored to meet our client’s needs and have expertise in new technologies such satellite telemetry and the use of remote cameras. Our dedicated survey team are able to provide a reliable service and continuity for projects of any size and duration. We have many years of experience with the species, habitats and landscapes where we work. Our survey methods follow NatureScot guidance and our surveyors hold schedule 1 licenses required to monitor rare and sensitive species. We are familiar with working in remote and challenging environments throughout the year.Â
