Ian Perks

Director

Ian has been working in Nature Conservation and wildlife management for 18 years. He started at RSPB’s flagship Abernethy National Nature Reserve in the Cairngorms where, he worked as a warden, conservation manager and Senior Site Manager. Initially out in the field completing practical conservation work, he later became senior site manager overseeing all aspects of management and conservation on one of the UK’s largest and most complex nature reserves. In this role Ian was pivotal in developing policy and strategy covering all aspects of upland and species management, including deer management, forestry, species protection, land management and conservation policy.


Since 2010, Ian has also been an associate partner with Roy Dennis Wildlife Foundation. In this role he has gained vital experience in wildlife management and species re-introductions. Ian was an integral part of projects translocating Ospreys from Scotland to Basque region in Spain and is now a project lead on White-tailed eagle reintroduction to England.


In 2023 Ian began a five year project to re-introduce Ospreys to the Valencia region of Spain, and is now one of the foremost species re-introduction specialists working in the UK
